More than a watch. More than a story.
In 1982, a remote group of islands in the South Atlantic—mostly sheep pastures, sea wind, and stone cottages—became the center of a sudden and bitter conflict. The Falkland Islands, though small in size, became the proving ground for a generation of soldiers whose endurance would be tested not just by the enemy, but by nature itself.

Unlike many modern conflicts, the Falklands War was fought in near silence—without media saturation or political grandstanding. It was muddy. Cold. Remote. The kind of war where gear mattered, and so did grit. For the British forces, particularly the Royal Marines and Paratroopers, every inch gained came at the cost of soaked boots, frost-numbed fingers, and the relentless weight of their packs.
The Battle of Mount Tumbledown was among the final pushes. A nighttime assault on high ground held by entrenched Argentine forces, fought with rifles, bayonets, and sheer will. It was brutal, close, and determined. And it marked the beginning of the end.
But this isn’t about tactics or medals. It’s about the kind of strength that doesn’t shout.

There’s something about the South Atlantic that changes a man. The wet doesn’t let up. The cold bites through every layer. Equipment is pushed to failure, and only the most basic, well-made tools endure. It’s in this environment that character is revealed—and where the ordinary becomes exceptional through sheer perseverance.
The story of the Falklands is one of national pride, yes—but more than that, it’s a testament to the endurance of individuals. Young men, many barely out of school, operating in some of the world’s most inhospitable terrain, far from home, under pressure most will never know.

We didn’t name our watch Tumbledown Diver to chase a trend or play dress-up in military history. We named it because the story matters. The battle, the conditions, the values behind it—those were real.
Durability over decoration. Purpose over pretense. Quiet strength when it matters most.
The Tumbledown Diver doesn’t try to mimic the past—it reflects the spirit behind it. The matte black dial calls to the cold Atlantic seas. The brushed steel case and khaki nylon strap speak to gear that just works. No gloss. No fluff. Just a tool you can count on.
In a world of disposable trends, Tumbledown is built to last.

This project wouldn’t have come to life without the design input of Matt Helm—a highly respected knife maker whose work is defined by clean functionality, intentional lines, and a deep understanding of what makes a tool truly useful. The overall aesthetic and form factor of the Tumbledown Diver began with Matt’s design vision, and his ability to translate simplicity into strength helped shape every detail of the case. While the historical inspiration came later, the foundation—the rugged silhouette, the left-hand crown, the balanced proportions—was Matt’s. We’re thankful for his collaboration and proud to have built this watch on the framework he envisioned.
